1 – Andre Johnson – The best receiver playing.
2 – Larry Fitzgerald – A very close second to Johnson. He has several years left to break and rebreak records.
3 – Randy Moss – Despite his age, he is still dominant, and with Brady back his stats should be above what they were last year.
4 – Calvin Johnson – Put the ball near this guy, and he gets it. One of the best, with his best years ahead of him.
5 – Steve Smith – Deserves every bit of attention that defenses give him, and then some.
6 – Reggie Wayne – He’s got loads of talent and Peyton Manning throwing to him, what more could he ask for.
7 – Anquan Boldin – A receiver that can take a hit, and return the favor, not to mention that he is lined up across from Fitzgerald (who often gets the double coverage), and has Kurt Warner passing to him. Boldin is a stud.
8 – Wes Welker – One of the best possession receivers in the game. It doesn’t hurt that he can take a hit, and the he returns kicks and punts.
9 – Greg Jennings – Like Calvin Johnson, this guy can catch the ball if it gets close to him, and has proven that he is a good target for whoever is lining up under center.
10 – Roddie White – With a true QB in Atlanta, White flourished, and had his second consecutive 1,000 yard season, and will continue to do well in this system.
Honorable Mention – Marques Colston – Colston only played 11 games last year and had pretty good numbers. Watch for him to rebound after his surgery last year.
On the Cusp: There are a lot of good receivers out there that deserve at least a mention. They are players that have proved that they are valuable targets, and consistently have good stats.

So, if I’m reading this correctly: Torry Holt, Marvin Harrison (who is currently not playing football), and Lee Evans are all better than Terrell Owens?
I’m not sure I’ve read a more wrong thing in my life.

One more thing: Marvin Harrison is “on the cusp”? That’s completely backwards. Marvin Harrison used to be one of the best WRs in the league, and now for whatever reason not a single team will even take a chance on him. Saying Marvin Harrison is “on the cusp” of being a great WR is like saying Matt Hasselbeck is “on the cusp” of being a great QB.

Please keep in mind that this article was written in June, long before the season started.
I can’t deny TO’s talent, but his attitude and demeanor offset any benefit he brings to a team.

Really? no TO, i hate the guy too but you have to give him credit. And also, I think you missed the playoffs last year, but I think Larry Fitzgerald has far proven himself as the best receiver in the game. Not only is he a great receiver in the regular season, but he proved last year that he is as clutch as any wide receiver in the league, that has to push him above Andre. I know Andre hasnt had the chance to prove himself in the offseason, but Larry was given the chance and proved himself worthy of the top spot. Speaking on this point, Hines Ward has proven now in 2 super bowls that he knows how to win as a wide receiver, and not to mention he can take a hit while delivering a hit, a quality that no other wide receiver has on this list other than maybe Anquan, who’s off field demeanor has probably been as bad as TO’s.

Like I said in my last comment, TO’s off field behavior is what nicked him off the list because he is as much of a hinderance as he is a help.
To be completely honest, I think that Johnson and Fitzgerald are the two best receivers in the league, and when it came down to it, I like Johnson just a little more. There is just something about him… I love watching them both, but Johnson is my favorite.
I do like Hines Ward, but being able to take a hit while delivering a hit is a nice quality (and a rare one at this position), it doesn’t make him one of the best receivers in the league, though Ward is definitely in the top 15.
